This policy explains how WarmWired collects and uses your personal data when you visit our website or buy from us, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

  • Order details: your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number (if given) and what you bought.
  • Payment information: handled securely by our payment provider (Shopify Payments / Stripe, or PayPal if you choose it). We never see or store your full card details.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email or contact form.
  • Browsing data: device, browser, IP address and how you use our site, collected through cookies. Non-essential cookies are only set if you agree (see Cookies below).
  • Marketing preferences: if you sign up to our emails.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To process and deliver your order, handle returns and provide support. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • To keep accounting and tax records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
  • To prevent fraud and keep our site secure. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests.

  • To measure and improve our website and advertising. Lawful basis: your consent (via our cookie banner).

Who we share it with

We only share what's needed, with service providers who act on our instructions:

  • Shopify, which hosts our store and processes checkout.
  • Our payment providers, which process payments.
  • Our fulfilment partner (CJ Dropshipping) and its warehouses, which pick, pack and ship your order.
  • Delivery companies (e.g. Royal Mail, Evri), which deliver your parcel.
  • Email and advertising tools (e.g. Shopify Email, Google, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest), only if you've consented to marketing or advertising cookies.

We never sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some of our providers are based or store data outside the UK, including in the United States, Canada, the EU and China (our fulfilment partner). Where this happens we rely on UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or, for fulfilment, the transfer being necessary to perform our contract with you (delivering your order).

How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for 6 years to meet UK tax law. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Support messages are kept for up to 2 years. After that we delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@warmwired.com. We'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the shop (for example to remember your basket). With your permission, we also use analytics and advertising cookies to understand how the site is used and to show relevant ads. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies in our cookie banner and change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

YouTube

We use YouTube API Services to upload and manage videos on our own YouTube channel (@warmwired). By watching or interacting with our YouTube content you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Our tool only accesses our own channel and does not collect or store data about other YouTube users. You can revoke any access you have granted to apps via Google security settings.

Children

Our shop isn't aimed at children under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

We'll update this page if our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
